President Kavelashvili claims "our region's potential is obvious"; political stability brings economic strength

“Everyone clearly sees that our region has tremendous potential; political stability brings economic strength and public prosperity,” Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili declared when assessing his visit to Turkiye.

According to the President, it is significant that Georgia and Turkiye share common perspectives on numerous issues.

“During the meetings, family values were also emphasised. We touched upon various economic and political topics and discussed different initiatives. The fact that Turkiye and Georgia relations are at such a high level gives me even more motivation for them to continue. Everyone clearly sees that this region has tremendous potential. Political stability brings economic strength and public prosperity. This has been brought about by the principled, national interest-based policies that these countries pursue. The initiative for Armenia to gradually participate in this format is also welcome.

The opinion that if a country is your competitor, you should weaken it, here emerged as the opposite. It is extremely important to me that my neighbouring country should be strong. These were precisely the ideas we exchanged. It was a sincere conversation, and this gives me hope that our relations will deepen even further,” the President declared.

According to Mikheil Kavelashvili’s statement, Georgia, like its neighbouring countries, desires long-term peace in the region.

“We have defended peace, family values, and national interests, and our friendly country’s leadership has the same approaches. This gives me firm assurance that there will be peace and stability here in the long-term process. Everyone should know, whoever they may be – strategic partners, friendly countries, or ill-wishers – that conflict is impossible here because these countries trust each other tremendously. We are in solidarity on this matter. The desire was expressed for them to visit Georgia, both Turkiye’s President and the Grand National Assembly Speaker, with whom I also had a very warm meeting. Previously, our Parliament’s Speaker had also come with a delegation, and I hope these relations will deepen even further,” Kavelashvili declared.
