The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, has congratulated the population on the coming year 2026. As the President noted, in 2025, Georgians demonstrated the fortitude characteristic of them and defended the country’s sovereignty and national interests.

“My dear fellows! Today, in these special moments, as the old year becomes history and the new one opens its door, I address you with great pride, a sense of gratitude and hope for the future.

2025 was simultaneously a year of trial and spiritual strength. Our people displayed the unique character and fortitude characteristic of us; they withstood unprecedented pressure, defended the country’s sovereignty and national interest, which means the survival of our identity, faith and traditions. It is precisely with this spirit and boundless love for our homeland that we meet 2026,” the President of Georgia noted.

Mikheil Kavelashvili congratulated Abkhazian and Ossetian brothers and sisters, compatriots living abroad, representatives of various professions who care for the country’s better future, and the Georgian Orthodox Church on the coming New Year.

“With sincere love and longing, I want to congratulate our Abkhazian and Ossetian brothers and sisters on the coming New Year, as well as our fellows living abroad. I wish to offer special congratulations and thanks to the Georgian Orthodox Church, to His Holiness, the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia, the spiritual pillar of our people, guardian of faith, morality and national unity.

I extend my congratulations to representatives of all faiths, loyal sons of our country. With great respect, I also congratulate the Defence Forces of Georgia and law enforcement officers, who serve with dignity and loyalty in safeguarding the security of our citizens and homeland. Additionally, I congratulate and thank individuals from various professions who dedicate themselves to securing a brighter future for our country in the New Year.

Dear friends, I wish every compatriot and every family health, prosperity and happiness in a united, strong, just and peaceful Georgia. May we always have faith that together we can overcome any difficulty. I congratulate you on the coming year 2026! May God be the protector of our homeland!” the President’s New Year message reads.
