President: Georgian people stand in solidarity with Swiss people as they mourn profound loss
“I am deeply saddened by the horrific tragedy at the Crans-Montana ski resort, which has claimed so many innocent lives,” wrote Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on the X Platform.

“In these hours of grief, the people of Georgia stand in solidarity with the Swiss people as they mourn this profound loss. We wish a full and speedy recovery to the injured. Georgia stands with you in this difficult hour,” he wrote.
Around 40 people died and 115 were injured in a fire at Le Constellation bar in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana on January 1, according to the BBC. Switzerland will hold five days of mourning.
