President expresses gratitude to Georgian people: Our citizens’ wisdom made Georgia’s development possible
“I would like to encourage and thank the citizens of Georgia. If it were not for the intelligence and wisdom of the majority of our people, our country would not have reached this stage of development,” Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili told journalists after casting his vote at the polling station.
The President stressed that he bows to the majority of society, who, in his words, “always make the right choices for Georgia’s future.”
“I want our society to remain calm and peaceful. The international community evaluates Georgia on many parameters, and our country stands at the forefront of development progress. First of all, I want to encourage and thank the citizens of Georgia. Without the wisdom and intelligence of the majority of our people, Georgia would not have reached this stage of development. Once again, I bow to the majority of our society who clearly understand the current situation and consistently make choices that serve the country’s progress. This is the main message.
The only real obstacle to Georgia’s faster development is the destructive actions of radicals, guided from outside, who deny these achievements. Unfortunately, a small part of our society has been misled—some even financed—and they are carrying out actions against statehood. But this cannot last long. Georgian society is wise. Peace, stability, and our steady development serve as an example for all. Today, the state is stronger than ever before.
Every institution has its obligations and responsibilities, and I am confident they will fulfill them. The choice before us is simple. Nothing will stop Georgia’s progress. Together, we must preserve peace, strengthen unity, and move forward with even greater determination,” he stated.
The President also expressed gratitude to all voters participating in the elections.
“I fulfilled my civic responsibility today. Regardless of political views, I want to thank every citizen who takes part in the elections and shows state consciousness.
Since regaining independence, we have endured a civil war, three wars, and many challenges. Our society has gained wisdom through these hardships, and I am sure it will not be difficult to make the right choice. Today’s reality gives Georgia a chance to become even more stable, peaceful, and developed,” Kavelashvili concluded.
