President awards Defence Forces representatives with Orders of Honor, Medals of Honor
Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili hosted representatives of the Georgian Defence Forces at the Presidential Palace.
Based on a joint nomination by Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia and Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, President Mikheil Kavelashvili awarded Defence Forces representatives with Orders of Honor and Medals of Honor.
Addressing the soldiers, President Kavelashvili remarked that their dignity and courage were the continuation of the Georgian people’s heroic legacy.
“Your loyalty and dedication in the service of the motherland represent a solid foundation of the Georgian statehood and the guarantee of our people’s security. As a Chief Commander and son of this country, with deep respect and gratitude, I bow to your invaluable contribution.
You are a living example of professionalism, discipline, moral strength, and unconditional devotion to your homeland. It is due to your responsibility and courage that we live in peace, develop, and look to Georgia’s future with confidence.
Your dignity and courage are the continuation of the Georgian people’s heroic legacy, of those people’s stories, who put freedom and homeland above their own lives. Today, you continue this honorable path with dignity. Your dedication and being in people’s service remain the highest value,” he said.
President Kavelashvili emphasized that state awards served as the “expression of gratitude for daily invisible heroism that accompanies the lives of the defense forces.”
“You set an example for the youth and the entire society. You are a united force that stands guard for Georgia’s freedom, sovereignty, and tomorrow. On behalf of the Georgian people, I congratulate you on deserved awards and wish you strength, firmness and success in Georgia’s service. May God protect you and our motherland,” he concluded.
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Irakli Chikovani and Commander of the Georgian Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Giorgi Matiashvili, attended the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, the President hosted a formal reception for the representatives of the Defence Forces.
