Pope Leo XIV congratulates President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Independence Day

Pope Leo XIV congratulated Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Independence Day, Presidential Administration released the congratulatory letter.

“On the occasion of your National Day, I send Your Excellency my warmest wishes for the well-being of your country and the unity of hearts. I pray before the Lord that your fellow find ever new inspiration in their service to the common prosperity of the nation. May they remain peacemakers, sensitive to the cry of the poor, and creative in charity to alleviate their suffering.

May Almighty God, through the intercession of Saint Nino, grant Georgians the right to live in safety and peace. I sincerely invoke divine blessings upon Your Excellency, upon all those responsible for public affairs, and upon the entire Georgian people,” reads the letter.
