Police seize up to one kilogram of cocaine and detain foreign national

Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA) have apprehended a person identified as A.A., a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, born in 1994, on suspicion of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage, and sale of a substantial quantity of narcotics.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during a search of the suspect’s personal and temporary residence, law enforcement officials recovered a significant amount of cocaine prepared for sale, up to one kilogram, which has been seized as evidence.

Additionally, authorities report that materials necessary for packaging the narcotics were also confiscated.

The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment.
