Police in the Imereti region have arrested three foreign nationals on separate occasions on charges of unlawful acquisition and possession of particularly large quantities of narcotics, as well as facilitating drug distribution as part of a pre-arranged group.

Investigations revealed that the suspects were involved in criminal drug supply networks. For subsequent distribution, they placed narcotics at various locations, took photographs, and transmitted the coordinates to individuals interested in purchasing illicit substances.

During personal searches of the defendants in Kutaisi and Tskaltubo, as well as at locations indicated by them, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large quantity of narcotics as material evidence: 329 individual deals of methadone packaged and ready for sale.

Following investigative measures, materials required for packaging narcotic substances were also seized from the temporary residences of the detainees.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260(4) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carry penalties of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
