Police questions City Hall official and Green Service+ Director

The Vake-Saburtalo Police Department questioned Head of the Environment Protection Service at the Tbilisi City Hall, Giga Gigashvili and Green Service + Company Director, Lasha Purtskhvanidze over the Vake Park tragedy case last evening.

Giga Gigashvili told journalists that based on the expertise, the carried out works were in line with the projecting documentation and the acting construction norms and rules. He pledged to cooperate with the ongoing investigation to determine the truth.

Lasha Putskhvanidze said the company bore full responsibility on the works. The installed equipment had been tested. He presumed the tragedy was caused by a “preliminarily planned misdoing” that was up to the investigation to probe into.

Three minors were electrocuted while attempting to retrieve a ball that had fallen into the Vake Park fountain on October 13. One died, while two were hospitalized.
