Police arrest two foreign nationals wanted by Interpol in Adjara

Officers from the Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have detained two citizens of the Republic of Turkey wanted by Interpol under a red notice.

According to the Ministry, the suspects were sought by Turkish law enforcement authorities on charges of fraud, with a red notice issued by Interpol.

“The suspects crossed the Georgian border before they were subject to arrest. Following an investigation by law enforcement officers, both individuals were apprehended in Batumi at different times. Currently, extradition proceedings as stipulated by law are underway against the detainees,” the Ministry stated.
