PM: We consider Azerbaijani and Armenian interests; negotiations to find solution benefiting all three countries

“I had a very friendly meeting with the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan. Overall, Azerbaijan is an exceptional friend of ours, and our governments have exceptionally friendly relations. Consequently, we foresee no difficulty in finding common ground on any issue,” stated Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, on the programme “Actual Topic with Maka Tsintadze” on GPB First Channel.

According to Kobakhidze, the subject of negotiations ultimately concerns the form in which transit from Azerbaijan through Georgian territory will proceed.

“We fully consider the acceptable interests of the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides. We have our own priorities, and I believe that through negotiations, we will easily find the best way to satisfy the interests of all three countries,” stated Irakli Kobakhidze.

The Prime Minister also responded to a question regarding the expiry of the Southern Gas Corridor contract, noting that negotiations are ongoing on all issues. Georgia maintains exceptionally friendly relations with Azerbaijan, which offers grounds for optimism, and the Georgian side is hopeful that an agreement beneficial to both parties will be reached.
