PM visits Futsal team before its departure for Latvia

The Georgian Futsal team held an open final training session in Tbilisi before departing for the UEFA European Futsal Championship, the main futsal competition for men’s national futsal teams.

The Georgian futsal team will depart for Riga, Latvia, on January 18.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze visited the national team at the Olympic Palace and wished it success.

“As an ordinary fan, I want to thank you very much. The success you have achieved is the result of hard work along with talent, and thank you very much for all of this. I wish you success at the European Championships. I am confident that this is just the beginning. More success will come with the years. You laid the foundation for this, and for that I am especially grateful. I wish you a successful year and good luck at the European Championships,” he said.

Matches at Futsal EURO 2026 will be played from January 21 to February 7 at four arenas in three cities across three nations: Riga in Latvia, Kaunas in Lithuania and Ljubljana in Slovenia.

The Georgian national team will face Latvia, Croatia and France in Group A. The first match will be held against Latvia on January 21. GPB’s First Channel and First Channel Sport will live broadcast the Georgian team’s matches.
