PM urges British officials to address their own issues, declares Georgia will not tolerate violence incitement
“Inciting violence by European high-ranking officials is deeply regrettable,” stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, echoing the remarks made by the British Ambassador to Georgia.
The Prime Minister contended that the Ambassador’s statements are misleading.
“Motivating violence by European officials is highly regrettable. The UK faces challenges with media pluralism and the influence of the Deep State on its media landscape. Therefore, I urge British officials to focus on their own issues. We will not tolerate any incitement of violence, including from British representatives,” he emphasised.
British Ambassador to Georgia Gareth Ward said in a video address: “The UK Foreign Secretary and other European partners have called on the Georgian government to release unjustly detained politicians, journalists and activists, repeal repressive legislation and engage in a national dialogue with all relevant stakeholders to find a way out of the current situation.”
