“The tourism and construction sectors are amongst the most important driving forces of the Georgian economy, and naturally they will continue to receive maximum facilitation and support from us for the development of both sectors,” Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze declared when addressing an event related to the start of construction of the Orbi Group’s new large-scale hotel complex, ORBI Continental.

As the Head of Government noted, today foundations are being laid for a crucial project that will truly become Batumi’s new calling card.

“The project you have presented is very impressive and effective, envisaging the construction of two skyscrapers, into which a USD 300 million, very large-scale investment will be placed. This project confirms the private sector’s confidence in the state, in economic development, in Batumi’s development, and in this respect, too, this initiative is very important.

The social aspect of this project is also quite significant. We were informed that, during the construction phase, 1,500 people will be directly employed, and once the project is operational, a total of 2,000 people will be employed in this multifunctional infrastructure.

This is truly a project of contemporary standards, which is very welcome. This will be a kind of calling card that will enrich Batumi’s appearance and promote its development.
