Georgian Prime Minister and Parliament Speaker nominated the Georgian national basketball team for the Order of Dignity for the team’s officially qualified for the final stage of EuroBasket 2025 after defeating Denmark’s national team 62-60 in the fifth round qualifying match held in Tbilisi.

The team members and their coaches will receive the titles. The team’s outstanding and titled members Giorgi Shermadini and Tornike Shengelia are nominated for the Order of Excellency.

The Prime Minister and the Speaker presented the personnel of the national basketball team to the President to award them with the Order of Dignity for their meritorious service.

The 2025 European Basketball Championship will take place across four countries – Finland, Cyprus, Poland, and Latvia.

The final stage draw will be held on March 27 in Riga, while the tournament will run from August 27 to September 14.

The team, coached by Aleksandar Džikić, will play their final EuroBasket qualifying round against Serbia on February 24.
