PM: Rally of 150 people is not Georgian people's protest; Society protests against 150 people's attempt to oppress four million people

“The Georgian people and Georgian society are protesting against the fact that 150 people are trying to oppress 4 million people,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said.

Responding to the question about the October 4 rally, the PM remarked that particular individuals participated in the overthrow campaign and only distanced themselves from the overthrow organisers when the plan failed.

“This was an open attempt at overthrow; this was the slogan of the October 4 rally. Representatives of three political parties, ex-president Salome Zourabichvili and others participated in the overthrow campaign and only distanced themselves from the overthrow organisers when the plan failed. The Georgian society witnessed that, and therefore, these people lack public trust.

The rally of 150 people is not a protest; it is not a protest of the Georgian people and society. The Georgian people and Georgian society are protesting precisely against the fact that 150 people are trying to oppress 4 million people,” he said.
