“Speculations regarding the Russian law are a deception, just as the notion of a Russian course is,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The Prime Minister asserted that the narratives surrounding the Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence are a “fraud of the century.”
“The European Union has proposed a similar law but has not been able to adopt it, as doing so would compel it to demand the withdrawal of the identical law favoured in Georgia. This situation is concerning. I reiterate that those who discuss Russian laws are complicit in this grand deception. It is, quite frankly, nothing more than falsehood. Simply not wanting war in the country does not imply that your direction is aligned with Russia.
You cannot label a Georgian as Russian. Some individuals categorize everything Georgian, including national initiatives, as Russian. Whoever refers to Georgian matters as Russian is participating in this fraud of the century,” he concluded.
