“You cannot be indifferent to Russia in 2009–2010 only to turn Russophobic after 2022; there is simply no explanation for it. It is a straightforward statement of fact to which no response exists,” stated Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze in response to a question regarding a statement made by Nikoloz Rachveli.

As the Head of Government noted, so-called politicians and representatives of the cultural sphere are deeply unsettled by the fact that their double standards have become blatantly obvious.

“I do not wish to dwell on it; he is a figure from the cultural sector, but this is a feeble attempt to justify one’s double standards. You cannot be indifferent to Russia in 2009–2010 and then become Russophobic after 2022. There is no explanation for this whatsoever; it is a simple statement of fact to which no answer exists. Because they have no answer, both so-called politicians and cultural figures resort to crude, offensive statements. What troubles them is that their double standards are blatantly obvious, something they can neither explain nor justify by any means. That is why they are forced to make crude statements, which is a tragic turn of events,” stated Irakli Kobakhidze.
