PM Kobakhidze: Nika Gvaramia's calmness masks concerns over booming economy and rising living standards
“When a country’s economy expands, there is also an increase in self-awareness, improved public morale, and a more positive attitude towards institutions overall,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.
The Prime Minister responded to a question regarding Nika Gvaramia’s comments on economic growth.
“Nika Gvaramia is simply trying to calm himself. In reality, their concern stems from the high rate of economic growth, which fundamentally results in higher average salaries, an improved social situation, increased revenue for the state budget, and consequently, enhanced social security, better healthcare, and more infrastructure development. This is what genuinely worries them. They attempt to soothe their concerns by shifting the focus to what they claim is a different societal attitude. However, as the economy grows, public self-awareness increases, morale improves, and attitudes towards institutions become more positive. This is what truly unsettles Nika Gvaramia, and his attempt to downplay these developments is purely artificial,” Irakli Kobakhidze stated.
