PM Kobakhidze: Dismantling foreign agents is not enough; treacherous forces must face full legal retribution

“The crucial point is that a definitive countermeasure must be delivered against this treacherous force, which is inherently hostile to the Georgian people and the Georgian state, and a public rebuke at the ballot box is simply not enough,” the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, has declared.

He further emphasised that this situation demands an appropriate legal response, and asserted that the government will do everything in its power to achieve this.

“The vital thing is that the network of foreign agents has been dismantled. After all, this is not even a legitimate opposition; it is quite literally a foreign agency. Because these agents are constantly fighting amongst themselves for supremacy in the eyes of their masters, this internal rivalry has left them unable to maintain even the previous level of success they held years ago. Consequently, things are moving in the right direction, but even this is not sufficient. The main priority is that this treacherous, hostile force, aligned entirely against the Georgian public and state, faces a proper reckoning. The people’s verdict at the elections alone will not suffice. This requires a rigorous legal response. This is an espionage network, and these agents and their active sabotage demand a formal legal evaluation. The government will spare no effort to ensure this happens,” Kobakhidze noted.
