PM Irakli Kobakhidze says his government prioritises people's well-being through urban development and housing support
“One of Georgia’s most significant recent achievements has been the completion of the National Cadastre and the full registration of land parcels throughout the country,” stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his speech at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum.
According to the Prime Minister, this reform has strengthened the legal framework, improved land resource management, and laid a more transparent foundation for economic activity and territorial governance.
“In parallel, the privatisation of residential units allocated during the Soviet period has now been finalised. With these units fully transferred into private ownership, we have established a definitive framework for urban stability and individual property rights.
At the core of our urban and housing policies remains the well-being of our people. For decades, Georgia has continued to address the humanitarian consequences of war and occupation by providing housing and social support to internally displaced persons from the occupied territories. We continue to develop new settlements and transfer housing units to affected families as part of our long-term commitment to dignified living conditions and social inclusion,” Irakli Kobakhidze has said.
