The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, visited the ongoing construction works of the Sagarejo-Badiauri highway.
The Minister of Infrastructure, Revaz Sokhadze, briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of the project.
Currently, on the 17-kilometre section of the Sagarejo-Badiauri route, part of the Kakheti main road, works include earthworks, the construction of the road foundation, relocation of utilities and land reclamation systems, as well as the installation of reinforced concrete culverts and underground passages.
As part of the project, a new transport hub is being developed near the village of Badiauri, along with the construction of four bridges, eight culverts, and 86 underground culverts.
The Sagarejo-Badiauri four-lane section forms part of the Kakheti Highway. Construction has already been completed on the most critical 35-kilometre segment of the highway. The development of the 17-kilometre Sagarejo-Badiauri section is being carried out with financial support from the World Bank (WB), at a total cost of GEL 276.7 million.
