PM: Hanukkah celebrates good over evil and light over darkness, warmth humanity needs most today

“I am pleased that the tradition endures and that Georgians, alongside the Jewish community, share in the joy of Hanukkah,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at the Synagogue in Tbilisi during the Hanukkah celebrations.

The head of government extended his well-wishes to Israel and the Jewish people.

“Hanukkah is a celebration of the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. Today, once again, we should remember our 26-century-long tradition of coexistence, friendship and mutual love that unites our peoples. This is a unique historical and cultural heritage with no equal in the world. It is a legacy preserved by our ancestors, and it is our duty to protect this special heritage and the unique bond of love that exists between our peoples. We cherish this deeply and will continue to do so in the future.

Each candle lit today warms people’s hearts. This is what humanity needs most today. People need more warmth in their hearts and more love. I wish warmth, love and prosperity to Israel and to the Jewish people,” added Irakli Kobakhidze.
