PM: Georgia's foreign policy orientation is enshrined in Constitution; its contours are clear and obvious
“The country’s foreign policy stance is enshrined in the Constitution, and I would like to remind you that this specific provision was added to Georgia’s Constitution precisely through the efforts of our government. I also wish to remind you that the opposition did not support this endeavour at the time,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his interpellation speech in Parliament.
According to the Prime Minister, if the approaches of European bureaucracy and the global political landscape shift, it will be possible to achieve the set objectives.
“Today, we see that the global context is not aligned with the realisation of these goals. You can observe how NATO-Ukraine relations are evolving, with implications for other countries as well. We also see the approach of bureaucratic institutions towards our nation. Let us hope these approaches will change. As for our position, it is unequivocal. I believe our foreign policy contours are clear and obvious,” Kobakhidze affirmed.
