PM: Georgian Defence Forces ensure sovereignty and independence; gov't committed to peace and stability
“Being a soldier of Georgia is a profound honour, full of responsibilities. Carrying this title with dignity demands hard work and unwavering dedication. For this reason, Georgia’s soldiers earn the trust and affection of our people,” stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during a speech at an event in Vaziani commemorating the 34th anniversary of the Georgian Defence Forces.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the soldiers for their bravery and commitment to the homeland.
“I extend my greetings to the entire composition of our Defence Forces, our proud army, and the true patriots of our homeland. Congratulations on the 34th anniversary of the establishment of the Defence Forces of Georgia.
Today marks a special occasion in Georgia’s recent history—a day to proudly affirm our independence and sovereignty. Together, we celebrate a peaceful and promising future for our country. Over the years, the Defence Forces of Georgia have faced numerous challenges, and I assure you that we will continue to strengthen our military and advance our nation.

We appreciate each of you for your remarkable courage and service. The combat achievements of our military exemplify perseverance, strength, and fighting spirit. Your dignity, professionalism, and commitment are recognized by all, both within Georgia and internationally,” the Prime Minister remarked.
On this occasion, he extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of soldiers who have lost their lives defending Georgia’s territorial integrity and in international missions.
“We will never forget our heroes and will always honour their sacrifices,” he emphasized.
Prime Minister Kobakhidze further noted that the examples of self-sacrifice and heroism for the Motherland will forever be etched in the memory of the Georgian people.
He offered special recognition to veterans of the Armed Forces.
“The tales of selflessness and valour that inspire our pride will never fade from the hearts of the Georgian people. I pay my respects to the cherished memories of our heroes. I would like to express particular admiration for the veterans, many of whom have borne the costs of service, yet remain unwavering in their readiness to sacrifice for our country.
The Georgian Defence Forces are a steadfast guarantee of our sovereignty and independence. That is why you are at the forefront of our government’s priorities. I am confident that you will continue to be a strong and reliable force in safeguarding our nation’s defence and security, living up to the hopes of our country and people.
I assure you that our government will persist in its efforts to maintain peace and stability in the future. Congratulations once again on this day! May God protect our homeland,” the Prime Minister concluded.
