The Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, expressed optimism about the acceleration of the country’s European integration process after meetings held in Brussels.

In his remarks to the reporters, Kobakhidze highlighted productive discussions during bilateral meetings with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, the Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, and the European Commissioner, Olivér Várhelyi.

Kobakhidze emphasized the friendly atmosphere in the meetings. The topics covered included political processes in Georgia, cooperation with the European Union, reforms within the association agenda, economic issues, and peaceful conflict resolution.

The PM stated that the discussions provided reasons for optimism, indicating a deepening of cooperation and a commitment to accelerating Georgia’s European integration process.

“These meetings give us a very good reason for optimism that our European integration process will be accelerated even more. We have ambitious goals. Today, I have already said it once and I would like to mention it again – by 2030, we will be more prepared than all other candidate countries to become a full member of the European Union,” Kobakhidze stated.
