PM: Foundation laid in 2025 creates firm precondition for coming year to be even more successful for Georgia

“The New Year is a celebration that we approach with hope for the fulfilment of dreams and the achievement of goals. This is precisely what I wish for each of you and your families, the realisation of dreams and the attainment of all set objectives,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated in his New Year message.

According to Irakli Kobakhidze’s statement, 2025 was a challenging yet successful year for our country.

“I wish you a Happy New Year. I wish a Happy New Year to each of our fellow citizens, to our compatriots living abroad, to Georgians, Abkhazians and Ossetians living in Abkhazia and Samachablo.

I congratulate teachers, doctors, artists, public servants, soldiers, police officers, judges, prosecutors, representatives of security structures, entrepreneurs, farmers, peasants, workers, and representatives of all professions.

The New Year is a celebration that we approach with hope for the fulfilment of dreams and the achievement of goals. This is precisely what I wish for each of you and your families, the realisation of dreams and the attainment of all set objectives.

2025 was a challenging yet very successful year for our country. Over the past year, we have further strengthened peace in Georgia, reinforced the country’s independence and sovereignty, and bolstered the Georgian economy, which has surpassed 100 billion lari for the first time in history.

The past year was also pivotal in terms of refining the system of state governance and consolidating the rule of law.

The foundation laid in 2025 creates a firm precondition for the coming year to be even more successful for Georgia.

2026 is a special year for our country: next year, we mark the 1,700th anniversary of the proclamation of Christianity as the state religion. Christianity is one of the principal pillars of Georgia’s identity, defining not only our faith but also our culture.

I wish a Happy New Year to His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, whose half-century of service has made an invaluable contribution to the strengthening of Georgia.

Fidelity to Christianity and the protection of God and the Most Holy Mother of God have allowed us to preserve our statehood and national identity over the centuries despite many trials. All of this reinforces our faith that the Georgian dream of a united Georgia will one day inevitably become a reality.

The core of Christianity is love, and love, in turn, is the very foundation upon which the strength of any individual or nation is built.

Therefore, I wish you all more love! I wish you all more kindness! I wish you peace, health, happiness and progress in the New Year 2026!

Happy New Year!” the Prime Minister’s New Year message reads.
