PM: Every patriotic Georgian can be proud of Georgia being independent and sovereign on 35th anniversary of independence

“Today, on the 35th anniversary of the restoration of independence, every patriotic Georgian can take pride in the fact that Georgia is independent and sovereign as never before,” declared Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in his address at the ceremonial event dedicated to Georgia’s Independence Day.

According to Kobakhidze, it is precisely this growing strength in independence and sovereignty that has given our country the wherewithal to steadfastly defend its faith, preserve peace, and remain firmly set upon a path of continuous progress and development, notwithstanding the most formidable of challenges.

“Thirty-five years have passed since Georgia restored its statehood. Since then, we have continued to walk the forty-year path of Moses. Today, on the 35th anniversary of the restoration of independence, every patriotic Georgian can take pride in the fact that Georgia is independent and sovereign as never before. It is precisely this growing strength in independence and sovereignty that has given our country the ability, despite the most daunting of challenges, to steadfastly defend its faith, preserve peace, and remain upon the unbroken path of progress and development, which will inevitably lead us to the Promised Land: to the achievement of all our national goals, to a united and glorious Georgia.

Once again, I congratulate you on Georgia’s Independence Day! I congratulate you on the 1,700th anniversary of the proclamation of Christianity as the state religion. Long live independent, strong, and united Georgia! God bless our Mother Church and our Motherland,” the Prime Minister declared.
