PM: European bureaucrats call Georgian government Russian when having no diplomatic relations with Russia, now they see need to communicate with Russia
“In conditions where we do not even have diplomatic relations with Russia, European bureaucrats managed to declare our government as the Russian government, and this is, of course, a double standard. Now they see the need to establish communication with the Russian authorities,” said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, responding to the question about the released information on the EU’s intention to appoint a special representative for negotiations with Russia.
According to the PM, double standards are evident in “all approaches of European bureaucrats.”
“In general, we see double standards everywhere in EU policy, which is regrettable. You remember reactions about Georgia in conditions where we do not even have diplomatic relations with Russia. These people, European bureaucrats, managed to declare our government as the Russian government, and this is a double standard. Now they see the need to establish communication with the Russian authorities.
Undoubtedly, the processes that took place in the E.S. had an impact on this. Let’s wait for the development of events. It should be emphasized that we see double standards everywhere when it has to do with European bureaucrats’ approaches,” the PM said.
