PM calls on Anaklia Consortium for fulfillment of commitments

Society is tired of listening to various conspiracy theories about Anaklia. Nobody will get any benefit from talking about non-existed barriers, – Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said.

According to PM, the state promised to invest 300 million in the infrastructure, purchased lands for tens of millions of dollars, part of which has already been handed over to the consortium; the state undertook a commitment to invest $100 million to co-finance the port.

“After all this, an objective question is: What is needed for the realization of the strategic project when there is such support from state institutions? The simplest thing is needed – fulfillment of liabilities by the private companies. I would like to reiterate our full support for the Anaklia port and to confirm that this project has strategic importance for us. I once again call on everyone to focus on the results and not on various types of theories,” Bakhtadze said.

As for the situation in connection with the Poti port construction, Bakhtadze said no permission had been issued.
