People's Power: Popcorn ready as Burchuladze claims CEC Chair, Zourabichvili calls elections, Vashadze eyes premiership

“They couldn’t even agree on whether to meet with the OSCE Secretary General or if those who did should feel satisfied. What kind of new elections or coalition are they discussing?” Guram Macharashvili, the executive secretary of the People’s Power party, criticized the opposition for their failure to unify on key issues.

Macharashvili noted the absence of a cohesive stance within the opposition.

“They haven’t made a single unified statement that everyone can endorse. Some say they will participate in local elections, while others refuse. Opinions about the OSCE Secretary General’s visit vary widely, with some supporting it and others opposing it. How can such disarray exist in politics with discussions of a coalition underway?”

“Paata Burchuladze has already made his intentions clear. He claims he will be the chairman of the CEC and that Zourabichvili will sign the election schedule,” Macharashvili commented on the topic of upcoming elections.

“I concur—Burchuladze will lead the CEC, Zourabichvili will handle the election timeline, and Vashadze is prepared for the premiership. The rest remains to be seen. We will stock up on popcorn and watch this unfold,” he remarked.
