People's Power Macharashvili urges diplomats to respect Georgian people's choice after elections

“Hopefully, after the elections, diplomats will reflect on it and ultimately choose to respect the will of the Georgian people,” stated Guram Macharashvili, Executive Secretary of the People’s Power party in the Georgian Parliament.

Macharashvili responded to comments made by the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Papuashvili, who asserted that “those who initiated the vicious cycle of election denial now have an opportunity to rectify their wrongs and demonstrate proper respect for Georgia’s sovereignty.”

According to Macharashvili, foreign diplomats have exhausted their capacity to perpetuate injustice against Georgia.

“Foreign powers and their diplomats here have drained their resources, even those that could cause harm to the countries they represent. They have tried everything, encouraging radical movements, interfering in domestic politics, and more. It is now clear that the French president is upset because an American diplomat criticised French internal affairs, yet simultaneously, the French and German ambassadors to Georgia are not only criticising Georgian politics but are actively interfering and inciting violent protests. They have run out of tools to continue their unjust actions against Georgia,” Macharashvili emphasised.
