Patrol Police issues alert on fake SMS for alleged violation of traffic rules
“SMS are being sent to citizens on behalf of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, for alleged violation of traffic rules, specifically, for exceeding the driving speed. The short text message is accompanied by a link,” reads the statement released by the Patrol Police.
According to the statement, the short messages are not sent by the Patrol Police Department.
“For informing citizens, we would like to clarify that the short messages are not sent by the Patrol Police Department. We urge you not to be mistaken and follow the instructions in the message. For additional information, please contact the Patrol Police Unified Service Center. The fact will be thoroughly investigated by a relevant service,” reads the statement.
