Patriarchate – All documents are sent to Presidential Administration needed for Archpriest’s Pardoning
Andria Jaghmaidze, Head of the Press Center of Georgian Patriarchate said that all the documentation necessary for pardoning of Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze, charged for having attempted to poison a high-ranking church person, had been submitted to the Presidential Administration.
According to Jaghmaidze, it is not known, whether president will take their recommendations into consideration. He explained that the letter of mediation had been sent to the Presidential Administration after the decision of the Holy Synod.
“It has to be noted that only 5% of the mediations have been fulfilled for the time being. The Patriarchate has no other format but presenting a mediation. Therefore, do not consider the church as being a public institution that can stage protests or set up tents. We applied to the Presidential Administration and this is what we could do,” Jaghmaidze said.
