Parliament unanimously elects Giorgi Gvarakidze as Prosecutor General

The Georgian Parliament elected Giorgi Gvarakidze as Prosecutor General of Georgia during today’s plenary session, with 83 votes in favour and none against.

Giorgi Gvarakidze outlined his reform agenda to the Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee, emphasizing increased transparency, strengthened anti-corruption measures, the establishment of specialized anti-fraud units, and enhanced capabilities to combat cybercrime.

The Prosecutorial Council selected Giorgi Gvarakidze as the candidate for Prosecutor General by a majority vote on June 18.
