“That the rules-based international order has collapsed is evident not so much from the cascading outbreak of new hot wars, but from how international organisations have been weaponised into arenas for political warfare,” the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, wrote on social media. His remarks came in response to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s adoption of the Hague Declaration, which includes a specific resolution on Georgia.

As Papuashvili noted, “The reality is that the network of global institutions established after the Second World War, which were meant to foster peace, consensus, and cooperation, has today been transformed into breeding grounds for conflict and arenas for political vendettas in the hands of specific political factions.”

“The premeditated injustice directed against Georgia clearly demonstrates that the current system of international cooperation and security requires a fundamental reset,” Shalva Papuashvili concluded.
