Parliament Speaker, MPs pay tribute to Patriarch's memory

Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and members of the parliament paid tribute to the memory of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.

Representatives of the legislative body held a procession toward the Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral, where the remains of the Patriarch rest.

Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II passed away on March 17 at the age of 93.

Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, will be laid to rest on Sunday, March 22, in the Sioni Cathedral.
