Parliament Speaker meets with European Parliament President

Georgian Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava met with the President of the European Parliament, David Maria Sassoli, as a part of his official visit to Brussels, Belgium. Press Office of the Parliament reported on Tuesday.

According to the Georgian Parliament press office, the parties discussed current political processes in Georgia, the Euro-Atlantic integration and the challenges. The focus was on the plan to prepare an application for EU membership by 2024.

“The meeting discussed upcoming local self-government elections and the importance of the active involvement of international observers in it. The President of the European Parliament expressed readiness to visit Georgia shortly after the elections.

David Maria Sassoli reaffirmed strong support for Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration”, information by press office reads.
