The Georgian parliament recognized MP credentials of the Gakharia for Georgia party’s 12 members.

Following the termination of parliamentary mandates for Giorgi Gakharia and his 11 co-mates, lawmakers recognized mandates for their replacements: Gela Abuladze, Jemal Ananide, Ketevan Bakaradze, Rusudan Tevzadze, Malkhaz Toria, Shalva Kereselidze, Salome Kobaladze, Giga Parulava, Vika Pilpani, Giorgi Sharashidze, Tamar Khvedeliani and Sopio Khorguani.

MP mandates were terminated on September 2 to Giorgi Gakharia, Teona Akubardia, Ana Buchukuri, Levan Gogichaishvili, Zaza Tavadze, Beka Liluashvili, Natia Mezvrishvili, Berdia Sichinava, Kakhaber Kemoklidze, Roin Kochorashvili, Dimitri Tskitishvili and Zviad Dzidziguri. Non-attendance at parliamentary sittings was named as the reason.

Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili stated at yesterday’s Bureau session that Gakharia’s party had applied to the Central Election Commission (CEC), made some adjustments to the list, and named 12 people who should become members of Parliament.

Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, called the renunciation of MP mandates “a mistake” and urged his party members to take their seats in the supreme legislative body.
