The Parliament of Georgia has formally adopted the Belgrade Declaration, which was passed during the inaugural Conference of Speakers of Parliaments of EU Candidate Countries held in the Republic of Serbia.

The Parliament of Georgia noted that the declaration highlights the critical role national parliaments play in advancing European integration.

Furthermore, the candidate nations agreed to establish an annual convention of parliamentary speakers. This initiative will serve as a permanent forum designed to deepen political dialogue and inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The next Conference of Speakers of Parliaments of EU Candidate Countries is scheduled to be hosted by Moldova in 2027.
