The Georgian Parliament on Monday initiated Election Code amendments prepared in line with the European Commission’s recommendations.
The draft envisages the introduction of electronic voter registration and voting system, starting with the 2024 parliamentary elections.
The proposal states that polling stations without electronic counters will digitize all ballots and upload them to the CEC portal.
The changes will also concern the penalties for using administrative resources, terms for recounting the precincts, certifying precinct election commission members, financial transparency, etc.
