On Tuesday, the Georgian Parliament approved amendments to the Law on Online Communications, with 81 votes in favour during the third reading.
MP Levan Machavariani introduced the proposed changes.
The amendments provide for the automatic extension of the right to utilize the radio frequency resources allocated for the establishment of a local digital terrestrial broadcasting network.
Additionally, the draft legislation outlines the fee associated with the set-up of a local digital terrestrial broadcasting network in the event of a license extension, which is granted through a competitive process for the use of radio frequencies.
