Para-powerlifter Shota Omarashvili wins double medal at Tbilisi World Cup
Shota Omarashvili has secured two bronze medals for Georgia on the second day of the Para-Powerlifting World Cup in Tbilisi.
Competing in the 80kg category, Omarashvili lifted 161kg in the individual event to claim third place. He also finished third in the combined total with an impressive 478kg across three attempts.
The Georgian national team has won six medals in the Tbilisi World Cup. In addition to Omarashvili, our team received medals from Temo Dadiani, Miranda Gigashvili, and Tamar Chalatashvili.
Georgia is fielding a strong squad of 28 athletes at the tournament—20 men and 8 women—across various weight categories.
The World Cup is being hosted and organized by the Georgian Paralympic Committee.
