Papuashvili: New budget validates Georgian government’s policy and opens doors for more projects
“The presented budget demonstrates the correctness of the Georgian government’s policy not succumbing to external pressures and safeguarding our own population,” stated Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia.
According to Papuashvili, the increased budget is a testament to the government’s commitment to prioritising the national interests of the Georgian people.
“In reality, these are still attempts to push Georgia onto a foreign agenda, to drag it into confrontation and escalation, not only with Russia but with various other entities, which would ultimately harm our economy. The fact that the Georgian government chooses to heed the advice of its own people rather than those who seek to divide and weaken us speaks volumes.
This increased budget is a direct result of that stance, enabling Georgia to be stronger in 2026 and to implement more projects, whether in infrastructure, education, or social development. We will have a more robust budget across all sectors. Most importantly, this budget reflects our economic growth, a remarkable leap forward, especially when compared to the growth rates of the entire continent,” Papuashvili affirmed.
