Papuashvili: Iran-U.S. relationship is understandable, but Georgia is not platform for countries to discuss their relations
“Georgia is not a platform where nations can debate or discuss their bilateral relations,” stated the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.
He emphasised that Georgia’s policy of peace is transparent to all.
“Georgia is not a venue for countries to clarify or resolve their relations. It is understandable that there may be desires or aims in this direction, and the current relations between Iran and America are also understandable. However, I would like to urge everyone not to use Georgian territory or our presence here to address or resolve their issues. Georgia’s commitment to peace is clear to everyone. In these times of crisis, whether in Ukraine or during other conflicts and wars, many of which have unfortunately occurred around us, are ongoing, or seem likely to continue, the foremost priority for us is that Georgia navigates these turbulent times peacefully. Through appropriate instruments, political decisions, dialogue, and conversations, we are achieving this. Today, Georgia stands as a successful country, both economically and politically,” said Shalva Papuashvili.
