Paolo Ali – We are sure that Georgia should become NATO member soon
“We are sure that Georgia should become a NATO member soon,” Paolo Ali, President of NATO Parliamentary Assembly told First Channel in an exclusive interview.
Paolo Ali said that he would talk about Georgia in his speech to be delivered at NATO Summit on July 11.
“NATO Leaders recognize Georgia’s reached progress. This progress has to be appreciated. I will place my focus on reforms carried out by Georgia and future membership of your country,” Ali said.
President of NATO Parliamentary Assembly said that Georgia had fulfilled all taken commitments. He said he did not know what would be written in a declaration, though.
“I think NATO membership is approaching Georgia. NATO is faithful to its open-door policy. NATO has aspirant countries. Aspirants need differentiated approach. Each has its preparation level, history and progress,” Paolo Ali claimed.
