Opposition to expect resumption of negotiations

Sergo Chikhladze, a member of Strategy Aghmashenebeli Party, said that the next round of negotiations between the ruling Georgian Dream Party and opposition would be presumably held next week.

Chikhladze said that if an agreement is reached, the opposition MPs, who renounce their mandates, would engage in the parliamentary work before the Procedural Committee terminated their authorities.

On January 4, the parliamentary procedural committee will consider the terminational request by Irma Inashvili, Giorgi Lomia, and Gocha Tevdoradze, members of the Alliance of Patriots.

The Alliance of Patriots secured four seats in the parliament of the 10th Convocation. Only Avto Enuqidze, a member of the party, agreed to engage in the parliamentary work.

Three MPs of Girchi Party and Citizens did not request to terminate their MP authorities yet. Other opposition parties renounced MP mandates.
