Opposition holding rally in Batumi

The opposition is holding a protest rally at Adjara Government building in Batumi.

Protesters demand snap elections as well as the resignation of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and Adjara Supreme Election Commission (SEC).

Lelo for Georgia member, Irakli Kupradze says the rally is being held in compliance with the coronavirus-related regulations.

Opposition noted that they plan to open an open cafe near the Government building tomorrow, as well as booths where some products will be sold. Also, they plan to create a so-called People’s City Hall, where citizens’ problems will be discussed.

Representatives of the opposition parties have been holding rallies in front of Adjara Government building since November 8. Protesters set up the tents on the spot where some of them are staying overnight.
