Opposition, GD MPs clash in Parliament
The opposition and the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party lawmakers clashed in the Parliament several times on Wednesday.
The conflict began when the GD Chair, Irakli Kobakhidze, was holding a briefing. The Strategy Aghmashenebeli party leader, Giorgi Vashadze, approached Kobakhidze and accused him of protecting “Russian spies.”
After that, several MPs confronted each other physically, prompting the security officers to discharge the tension.
As of now, the opposition does not attend the hearing as a sign of protest, while Tea Tsulukiani, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, continues to report to the Parliament within the Ministerial Hour format.
