In the II quarter of 2022, the number of arrivals of international non-resident travellers in Georgia equaled 1 049.4 thousand, which is 198.7% higher compared to the data from the same period of previous year. Most of the incomes, 47.0 %, were made by travellers of 31-50 age groups, National Statistics Office of Georgia said on Monday.
The number of visits by international visitors from above-mentioned number made up 922.2 thousand, which is 176.2 % higher compared to the data from the same period of 2021, the Geostat noted.
The number of international visitors amounted to 765.3 thousand, 189.4 % higher compared to the data from the same period of previous year. In the reporting period, international visitors have made 749.3 thousand tourist-type visits, which is 145.0 % higher compared to the data from the same period of previous year.
The largest number of visitors (147.7 thousand visitors) was from Russian Federation, followed by Turkey with 14.9% share and Armenia with 12.1% share. The purpose of the majority of visits (52.0 percent) was holiday, leisure and recreation, the GeoStat added.
